IPL acne management targets acne-prone skin to reduce acne bacteria, breakouts and inflammation for a clearer, more balanced and healthier looking complexion.
How it Works
A course of treatments will usually be 4-6 treatments, spaced 1-2 weeks apart. Ongoing treatment may be needed.
2 weeks prior: Avoid sun exposure, solariums or fake tanning. Cease use of topical prescription retinol. Use of an SPF 30+ sunscreen daily (such as 'SHADE').
3 days prior: Avoid active skincare products containing cosmeceutical retinol (topical vitamin A) or hydroquinone (whitening creams).
12 hours prior: Avoid applying moisturiser or other products to the treatment area.
The treated area will be more sensitive to sun exposure. As always, use an SPF30+ (such as 'SHADE') and/or protective clothing on sun exposed areas.
Some redness may occur and could last for a day or so. If needed, use cold packs periodically throughout the first few days to reduce any redness or discomfort.
Apply aftercare/healing products as prescribed.
Do not scratch, rub or pick the area.
Do not have a hot shower (tepid only) during the first 24 hours post treatment.
Do not do a heavy, sweaty workout in the first 24 hours post treatment.
NOT suitable for those with:
Unprotected sun exposure or solarium use 4 weeks prior to treatment
History of seizures
Severe dermatitis or eczema (within the treatment area)
Roaccutane use in the last 6 months
Herpes 1 or 2 (within the treatment area)
Very dark skin
Photo sensitising medications are best avoided
