IPL pigmentation correction effectively fades and removes age spots, sun spots and discolouration to greatly improve overall skin tone, texture and radiance.
How it Works
IPL Pigmentation Removal works to safely and effectively reduce the appearance of freckles, pigmentation and post-trauma pigmentation including acne scars and age spots. The treatment targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light, without damaging the surrounding skin. The light heats up and shatters the pigment. The pigment is then drawn to the surface without harming the surrounding tissue.
Pigmented areas will darken within a few hours post treatment but once drawn to the surface, the pigmented lesions will fade or dry and flake off (usually within 3-10 days), leaving the skin with an even tone and complexion.
A single treatment can show stunning results although it is recommended to have 4-6 treatments, at 3-4 weekly intervals.
2 weeks prior: Avoid sun exposure, solariums or fake tanning. Cease use of topical prescription retinol. Use an SPF 30+ sunscreen daily (such as 'SHADE').
3 days prior: Avoid active skincare products containing cosmeceutical retinol (topical vitamin A) or hydroquinone (whitening creams).
12 hours prior: Avoid applying moisturiser or other products to the treatment area.
After treatments you can expect a darkening of the pigmented area before it heals in just a few days.
The treated area will be more sensitive to sun exposure. As always, sun protection is key (protective clothing and/or SPF30+).
The skin may be slightly swollen, which should only last a few hours. Use cold packs periodically to reduce any swelling.
Apply aftercare/healing products as prescribed.
Treat the treated area gently, no rubbing or scratching or picking.
Do not have a hot shower (tepid only) during the first 24 hours post treatment.
Do not do a heavy, sweaty workout in the first 24 hours post treatment.
NOT suitable for those with:

History of seizures
Severe dermatitis or eczema (within the treatment area)
Roaccutane use in the last 6 months
